MSU Women's Basketball Team Entering D-II Tourney Confident

Posted: Updated:

The MSU women's basketball team is on their way to Topeka Kansas to take part in their 2nd straight Central Region of the Division Two National Tournament starting on Friday.

Despite losing the NSIC championship game, the Mavericks made the field.
The loss in the title game ended a run of 14 straight wins, but the players say they are ready to start a brand new winning streak on their quest for a national championship.

The Mavericks earned the 4th seed, and are joined by the NSIC champs from Augustana, as well as Concordia Saint Paul from the conference.
The Mavericks will take on the Golden Suns from Arkansas Tech in the first round, and are excited about seeing someone different in the tourney.

First year head coach Emilee Theisse has been stressing to her team all season that they should never try to peak, because they should always be working on ways to improve.
That message has helped the team reach the tournament with a lot of confidence.
