NORTH MANKATO, Minn. -

North Mankato residents had the opportunity to chat with their city council members this morning.

Called 'Coffee with the Council' it provided a unique opportunity for people to meet and get to know their city council leaders.  The informal setting meant residents could just walk up to and talk to members of the council to bring up issues or just talk over some coffee and cookies.

New North Mankato City Administrator, John Harrenstein, was on hand as well.  "I emphasized the need to listen to citizens during my interview process and I think coffee with the council does just that so just great to meet a lot of people informally," says Harrenstein.

Harrenstein's contract as city administrator was approved this past January.
