MANKATO, MN -

A 20 year-old North Mankato man is sentenced to 5 years in prison for assaulting a man with a pistol. Kamau Evans pleaded guilty to two felony counts: 2nd degree assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a pistol or assault weapon. The incident happened in Mankato on December 29th. The victim, a 20-year-old male, told police he was leaving a party and was attacked by Evans and Trevon Romelle Wynn of Minneapolis The man told authorities that Wynn and Evans drew pistols after kicking him while he was balled-up on the ground. Charges against Wynn were dropped earlier this month.
