NEW PRAGUE, Minn. -
NEW PRAGUE, Minn. (AP) _ A sheriff says a 911 call about an active shooter at a school in southern Minnesota appears to be a hoax.
Scott County Sheriff Kevin Studnicka says students and staff at the middle school, high school and Central Education Campus buildings in New Prague are all safe.
Studnicka says a man called 911, asked for help, hung up, then called back and claimed a shooter with an AK47 assault rifle was in a school building. He says the caller claimed there were a couple of victims. The call prompted a lockdown.
The sheriff says there is no evidence of a shooter and no one is hurt.
New Prague is about 45 miles southwest of Minneapolis. The middle and high schools have a combined enrollment of 2,067.
