A German girl suspected of linking the Islamic State team in Syria was taken into custody in her homeland after being deported from Turkey.
The suspect, identified only as Zeynep G. in accord with German privacy principles, was detained at Frankfurt airport on Thursday.
They say she wed another IS fighter, this one from Germany, following her husband had been killed in fighting in 2015. Both had a kid in 2016.
Zeynep G. was seized by Kurdish forces in ancient 2019 and escaped approximately a year after from a refugee camp in northern Syria, according to prosecutors. She was subsequently detained after entering Turkey.
German national police told news agency DPA both girls and their four kids landed in Frankfurt on Thursday evening on a trip from Ankara. There was no arrest warrant against another girl.
