Thai soldier shot dead after killing in least 20 against gun rampage

A soldier that shot and killed at least 20 people and injured about 42 other people in a shopping center in northeast Thailand was shot dead by security forces.

Defense Ministry spokesman Lt. Gen. Kongcheep Tantrawanich recognized the defendant as Sgt. Jakrapanth Thomma, 32 Decades.

Security forces said they’d procured the construction from the ground floor up, locking down the mall and the surrounding region and escorting people beyond the shopping center.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that there were no more bodies left within the building. Then he added, “We do not know if there are any further injuries or deaths or not.”

Police officials said that the shooter took a gun out of his army base and drove into the Terminal 21 Korat mall, shooting across the way. Many Thai media reported he traveled to a military car.

By security camera movie aired on Thai Rath tv, the gunman seemed to be equipped with an assault rifle.

A police officer said that the soldier shot another soldier and a girl, wounding plus a third individual, seemingly over a property dispute.

He’d staged his first attack on Facebook however that was discounted.

The man thought to be the gunman posted upgrades to his FB page throughout the rampage with statements such as”No one could escape death” and”If I give up” At a subsequent article, he wrote, “I’ve ceased already.”
