While that a dogfight drags on at the race to the White House, a marginally less consequential — and even better-natured — election has witnessed French Bulldog Wilbur become mayor in a city in Kentucky.
Wilbur Beast, a six-month-old puppy, won the mayoral vote from the little city of Rabbit Hash, which has had a puppy mayor since 1998.
The election is held to raise cash for the Rabbit Hash Historical Society, together with every vote costing $1. The largest fundraiser receives the prize.
It is not only dogs that can participate, using a donkey, a cat, and just a rooster vying for top office this past year.
1 big similarity between the Rabbit Hash election and this year’s presidential election is that the magnificent turnout.
Like Democratic candidate Joe Biden, who currently holds the record for the most votes ever to get a US presidential election, Wilbur broke the record amount of votes within his election with 13,143.
Total there were 22,985 votes, the largest turnout at the background of Rabbit Hash elections, the Rabbit Hash Historical Society explained.
