US panel wants Pakistan to be re-designated for religious Liberty violations

“In Pakistan, the orderly enforcement of blasphemy and anti-Ahmadiyya legislation, and failure to deal with forced conversions of religious minorities – such as Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs – to Islam, seriously restricted religious liberty,” that the worldwide organization stated in its yearly report.

The USCIRF has advocated that the US government must redesign Pakistan as a country of particular concern.

She had been acquitted last year.

“USCIRF is mindful of almost 80 people who stayed imprisoned for blasphemy, together with half confronting a life sentence or death,” it further said in the report.

Amid the plight of Ahmadiya Muslims, the panel stated in its reports,” Ahmadi Muslims, using their religion basically criminalized, continued to face severe persecution from governments in addition to social harassment as a result of their beliefs, together with both authorities and dinosaurs targeting their houses of worship”

Additionally, it stated that 1,000 girls are forcibly converted to Islam annually in Pakistan. “Many are kidnapped, forcibly married, and exposed to rape”

The commission tracks religious freedoms around the globe.
