An avalanche in eastern Turkey killed at least 21 people, such as military authorities and civilians who have been employed to rescue victims of a previous snowslide, the local governor said on Wednesday.
More individuals are considered to be still trapped,” Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu mentioned previously, without giving a few.
TV footage from Van’s Bahcesaray district revealed dozens of individuals using shovels and sticks in snowfall and high winds to dig out buried vehicles, along with other overturned cars.
Soylu reported the states in the region made it difficult for rescue vehicles to function, including a vehicle that was pulled out from beneath 4-5 meters (16 ft ) of snow.
Rescue teams were trying to rescue people trapped beneath a previous avalanche that struck on Tuesday, killing five people. Eight individuals were rescued from this avalanche and the next snowslide happened as groups were looking for others.
