Both aircraft crashed across the central city of Inca at 1:35 pm (1135 GMT), the regional Balearic Islands authorities stated on its Twitter account.
Everybody aboard both aircraft — two to the airplane and five to the helicopter — died in the crash,” a police spokesman said.
A couple and their two kids were aboard the helicopter together with the pilot; the spokesman told AFP.
The helicopter has been registered in Germany, “that does not necessarily signify the natives were of the particular nationality,” he said, stressing that an investigation to the victims’ nationalities was underway.
Authorities said the two aircraft crashed into an area.
Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands are very popular with both the Spanish and international tourists, particularly in the summertime.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed condolences to the victims’ families, also stated in a tweet he had been”after the information out of… Mallorca with concern.”
