Amazon sues U.S. over Reduction of Pentagon cloud Bargain to Microsoft

Amazon.com Inc. filed a suit on Friday demanding the Defense Department’s decision of rival Microsoft Corp. to get a Pentagon cloud-computing contract value up to $10 billion.

The litigation, which has been filed under seal at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, marks Amazon’s most competitive push to shield its competitive advantage in the cutthroat world of national government contracts.

Amazon clarified why the lawsuit had been filed under seal.

“The criticism and relevant filings contain source selection sensitive data, in addition to AWS’s proprietary information, trade secrets, and confidential financial information, the release of which could cause acute competitive harm,” according to the filing.
