Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., announced Wednesday that she’s financing home country Sen. Elizabeth Warren from the 2020 presidential competition.
Pressley’s acceptance comes weeks following her three fellow members of this”the group” — New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib –declared their support for Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
At a movie she tweeted Wednesday, Pressley stated that”large structural change can not wait” and applauded Warren’s myriad policy suggestions, stating”the plans are all about power.”
Pressley’s is potentially the most high-profile endorsement Warren has made so far. And in financing Warren, Pressley — that conducted an insurgent innovative campaign to oust a longtime Democratic congressman through the 2018 main — not just jeopardized a fellow Massachusetts lawmaker, but might function as a dominant black surrogate on the road.
