An investigation was launched following former prime minister David Cameron’s bodyguard left his gun at a bathroom on a commercial trip, authorities said Wednesday.
The Glock semi-automatic pistol was discovered by a passenger earlier take-off about the British Airways flight from New York to London, inducing a delay and contested passengers, reports stated.
The officer had left Cameron’s passport at the loo.
“We had been waiting to take away if a man began to show images on his phone of a gun along with 2 passports — one was David Cameron’s — he said he had found in the restroom,” The Sun newspaper quoted a passenger as saying.
“They were only resting on the side by the sink”
Scotland Yard police headquarters said that it was exploring.
“We’re conscious of the incident on a trip to the united kingdom on February 3 and the officer involved has been removed from operational responsibilities,” a spokeswoman told AFP.
“We’re taking this issue very seriously and internal evaluation is happening.”

Daughter abandoned in bar
It’s not the first time that a toilet-related Cameron mix-up has led to something significant being left behind.
In 2012, Cameron inadvertently left his eight-year-old daughter in the bar after a misunderstanding with his spouse.
Nancy Cameron wandered off into the bathrooms while the maximal and his wife Samantha were ordering lifts out of the bar, and the few just realized she had been missing after they got home.
He re-surfaced a year ago after his memoirs were published.
“It was an honor to be asked to do this job and I am very thankful to have been asked,” Cameron explained.
“However, I think that it’s best in such situations when you’ve got a government ministry doing the job”
The COP26 launch event was on Tuesday and there’s still no summit president set up after Johnson a week sacked the girl top plans for the summit.
She subsequently launched a blistering assault on the government, saying the government was”miles away course” on meeting climate change obligations.
