China’s coronavirus-stricken Wuhan Transforms buildings into hospitals

The central Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of this coronavirus outbreak in the nation, began on Monday night to convert an area gymnasium, an exhibition center, and a cultural complex into makeshift hospitals, a local paper reported.

The three places are going to have over 3,400 beds incomplete for patients experiencing mild cases of this disease, the official Changjiang Daily explained.

Huoshenshan, made to possess 1,000 beds, was finished and has started to get patients. Leishenshan, together with 1,600 beds, is under construction.

New confirmed instances in Wuhan jumped by 1,242 on Monday to 6,384 incomplete. Thus far, 313 men and women in town have died of the virus.

The total death toll in China climbed to 425 after Monday up by 64 in the preceding afternoon, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.
