Christian Bale Responds to Joaquin Phoenix Playing with Joker Following Heath Ledger, calls it’Courageous’

Bale has played Batman in 3 movies, most notably opposite Heath Ledger as The Joker at The Dark Knight.

“You know, it is a courageous thing to follow up that performance and that he consistently makes interesting choices,” Bale said he had been’dying to watch’ the movie added, “I wish them the best with this.”

“Oh, great. A great option, he is intriguing,” Bale said at TIFF. “I am sure he will come up with something interesting.” His Ford v Ferrari co-star Matt Damon added, “Can you find that the Safdie brothers film he did? Asked if he had any advice for the young actor, Bale repeated the same information he had given Ben Affleck when he had signed for the function. “Oh, like for Ben. You only have to have the ability to urine on your own. You do not feel like a superhero when you can not take a rest on your own.”

While the Batman movie, led by Matt Reeves, is expected out in 2021, Joker, directed by Todd Phillips, will arrive in October. The movie pulled off a surprise success in the new Venice International Film Festival, where it had been given the Golden Lion. Ledger was famously given a posthumous Oscar for his performance in The Dark Knight, that premiered a couple of months after his departure.
