Deepika Padukone’s Movie Chhapaak was on Friday declared tax-free Rajasthan. The Rajasthan government said the order within this regard. The film can be tax-free in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie relies on the real-life acid assault survivor Laxmi, who at age 15, was assaulted allegedly by a spurned lover in 2005. Meghna is famous for her exceptional work in movies, such as the most recent blockbuster Raazi.
A day following exempting Chhapak from amusement tax, the Madhya Pradesh government also declared that celebrity Deepika Padukone is going to be honoured through the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA Awards ). Capital Bhopal along with the country commercial heart Indore will be placed for its awards ceremony in March.
Meanwhile, former Bihar civilization minister Shiv Chandra Ram urged the state authorities to create the movie tax-free throughout the country, since the film raised the relevant problem of acid assault survivors. “Deepika Padukone is among our top actresses, and she deserves a salute for being able to play with a de-glamorized role, according to a real-life event. Acid attacks are a societal menace, and the film sends an essential message. The authorities must follow the cases of countries like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and the movie needs to be produced tax-free in Bihar”, Ram’d stated.
The movie marks Deepika’s creation debut in Bollywood. The film is set to hit theatres on January 10, 2020.
