Kajol created a remarkable comeback using Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, where she plays with Tanaji Malusare’s spouse Savitribai Malusare. The first expression of the whole feminine star cast of the movie was shown and reveals Kajol within an astonishing sari-clad avatar.

The film shows Kajol sitting in the middle at a cotton sari looking carefully at the camera. She’s seen sharing the sofa with a tipsy Shruti Haasan on the left and right Neena Kulkarni sitting on the right having a worried expression. Neha Dhupia is viewed standing on the best in a pantsuit. Actor Yashaswini Dayama is observed sitting on the ground at a skirt-top along with her hair in plaits. She, also, looks fearful. The film also reveals Mukta Barve leaning to the sofa in a burka, Sandhya Mhatre standing supporting Kajol within an orange sari, Shivani Raghuvanshi is observed in a laboratory coat and Rama Joshi is standing intense left in a salwar-suit.

The movie has been led by Priyanka Banerjee and created by Electric Apples Entertainment.

Talking about her introduction in brief movie genre, Kajol told Mid Day, “I could not have picked a better theme for the first short movie. In the current times when sex discrimination, violence, and abuse has been talked about vociferously, movies like Devi are a lot more important”

Shruti further explained, “We discuss sisterhood and the way women will need to stand with one another. Devi highlights that facet with a potent message.”

Kajol had stated in one of those interviews she felt accountable for her function since there was no reference point to play with Savitiribai. She explained, “The feeling of obligation for this specific character was I had no reference point. I could not compare her to anyone. The duty, as a celebrity, is different from me, since I must convince myself that what I am doing is the ideal thing. This was a job.”

Crediting the manager Om Raut and costume designer Nachiket Barve for performing thorough study on the function, she explained, “Both of these researched, contested and verified all of the facts. I followed exactly what they needed to say. If you wear that sari, your own body language automatically shifts “
