US President Donald Trump has fired another senior officer who testified against him at the impeachment question.
Gordon Sondland, the United States’ ambassador to the EU, was ousted on Friday just hours after Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman who’d functioned as a specialist on Ukraine in the White House.
“I had been informed today that the President plans to recall me successful quickly as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” Sondland explained in an announcement on Friday.
Lt. Col. Vindman had testified at impeachment hearings he did not believe it was”appropriate” for Trump to”need foreign government research” former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.
Lindman, who had been born in Ukraine, turned up to work on Friday in the White House but was quickly escorted out.
He’s been re-posted into the military, the US army said but gave no additional specifics.
“The reality is that it’s cost the lieutenant colonel his occupation,” explained David Pressman, among Vindman’s attorneys, adding he was no doubt it was a political revival.
In his testimony, Vindman contended he thought the then Ukrainian attorney general, Yuri Lutsenko, and Trump’s attorney, Rudy Guiliani, had”encouraged a fictitious story” that undermined US policy in Ukraine.
Commenting on own standing from the White House he’d said that the military serves the nation, rather than”any specific political party”
