Four dead and Many injured in Gas tank explosion in Lebanon

Four people were Murdered in Beirut on Friday night after a Gas tank Burst at the Tariq Jadidah Area Based on the Red Cross.

The state-run National News Agency reported the explosion occurred within a bakery in the basement of this building, resulting in a fire.

In addition to the four deceased sufferers, many others were hurt. It was not clear what triggered the original explosion.

“We had been cleaning the road then abruptly a very powerful explosion shook the location and everything beginning falling,” said eyewitness Ali Ghannam. “A petrol or gas tank was blown from the air then dropped down, causing fire and power wires to be trimmed, and people rushed away. We don’t know the information.”

Firefighters quickly put out the blaze and helped trapped occupants to escape.

Lebanese troops were deployed into the region and pushed back onlookers.

Almost 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, an extremely volatile chemical used in fertilizers, burst at Beirut’s interface on Aug 4. The material was stored in the center for six decades.
