Dame Diana Rigg, a British actress famous for playing characters such as Olenna Tyrell at Game of Thrones, has died at age 82.
Rigg also looked as Countess Tracy di Vicenzo from the sixth Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and as Emma Peel from the Sixies TV series The Avengers.
“She died peacefully early this afternoon. She had been at home with her loved ones who’ve asked for privacy at this challenging time,” her representative, Simon Beresford, said in a statement delivered to UK media.
“Dame Diana has been an icon of theater, film, and television,” Beresford added.
“Dame Diana has been a much loved and honored member of her career, a force of character who loved her job and her fellow celebrities. She’ll be deeply missed.”
Rigg trained as a celebrity at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company once she graduated.
