Hong Kong legislature votes to law banning offenses on China’s national anthem

Hong Kong’s legislature voted for a Beijing backed law banning insults to China’s national anthem on Thursday, a shift critics say more stifles dissent within the restless semi-autonomous economic hub.

Lawmakers authorized the expenses with forty-one in favor and 1 from, however, the chamber’s pro-democracy faction refused to cast the votes of theirs and rather shouted slogans denouncing the law.
