Hong Kong’s Chief Lam’s policy Speech to focus on Property and housing

Hong Kong’s embattled leader Carrie Lam stated on Tuesday her yearly policy speech this week could focus on housing and land steps as weeks of anti-government protests revealed no indication of abating from the Chinese land.

Lam, speaking at a press conference, stated livelihood problems would be the main priority for her government and said the authorities should think about”every way” to end the violence.

The Asian financial hub has witnessed more than four weeks of sometimes violent protests, posing the largest popular challenge to Chinese President Xi Jinping because he came back into power in 2012 and pushing Hong Kong to its thorniest political catastrophe as Britain returned it to China in 1997.
