Last updated on January 22, 2020

Actor Hugo Weaving was in talks to reprise his role as Agent Smith in the upcoming fourth installment in Matrix franchise but matters did not materialize after manager Lana Wachowski decided to proceed with the movie. The 59-year-old celebrity was offered the opportunity to incorporate in the new movie but the program battled with his starring role at the theatre production of The Visit.

“It is unfortunate but I had this deal (for The Go ) and the deal came in The Matrix so that I knew it was happening but I did not have dates. I thought that I could do it and both took eight months to figure out that the dates could work – I held off on accepting a function in the See throughout that moment.

“I had been in contact with Lana Wachowski, but ultimately she decided that the dates were not likely to do the job. So we had sorted the dates after which she kind of shifted her mind.

Matrix 4, supported by Warner Bros, is scheduled to be published on May 21, 2021. Jada Pinkett Smith can be set to return as Niobe.

Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell possess co-written the script with Lana, who’s also attached to make Grant Hill. Aquaman celebrity Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Jessica Henwick, and Neil Patrick Harris will also be part of this cast.
