Indian-American US Congressman Ro Khanna on Friday Urged for NATO Equal status for India in bilateral defense ties. This type of situation will require”that the US-India connection to another level,” Khanna told PTI following having a meeting with a top Pentagon official which has been concentrated on strengthening India-US defense relationship along with other difficulties.
“I’m working with Elliot Engel, Chair of the (House) Foreign Relations Committee, to provide India the equal of NATO standing in our defense connection. I’ve introduced a bill from the House Armed Services Committee and working to construct a coalition to have it passed,” Khanna said.
Both discussed how to strengthen the defense and economic ties in promoting democracy.
The two-term teenager from Silicon Valley over the last couple of years have become one of those go-to individuals on foreign policy from Congress. “Gandhi Ji thought in satyagraha, a belief that the truth will finally prevail,” Khanna said in the context of their sentiments against him one of a part of Indian-Americans.
“I’m confident my listing and function will speak for itself. I’ve worked difficult to strengthen the defense and economic relationship with the US and India and also have established excellent credibility on foreign policy. I’ll continue to work to reinforce this connection perched about the ideals of the American creators and Mahatma Gandhi –ideals of inclusion and respect for every human being,” he explained.
