Indian-origin ex-Trump Resort Spouse arrested for stealing luggage

Dinesh Chawla, an Indian-origin hotelier who formerly partnered with US President Donald Trump’s household on four resorts, has been detained on charges of stealing luggage from an airport in the united states. Police say he placed the stolen luggage in his car and went inside the airport to catch a flight.

The airport authorities said that they searched the vehicle and found that the bag and the second piece of luggage which was taken in the airport a month before, The New York Times reported.

Chawla was detained when he returned to Memphis and confessed to stealing the two bags and their contents, valued at roughly USD 4,000, according to a police affidavit. Chawla told an officer he knows banning luggage isn’t right. However, he does it for the thrill and enthusiasm, the report stated. Chawla and his brother Suresh Chawla run a series of hotels and motels from the Delta and are building a luxury resort in Cleveland, a job that before February was a joint venture together with the Trump Organisation.
