The Italian traditional movie Pasqualino Settebelleze made manager Lina Wertmüller the first woman to be nominated for a best director Oscar back in 1977.
At 91 years old the celebrity of the movie sector has been granted an honorary Oscar from the academy and she encouraged Euronews into her property.
Lina Wertmüller discusses the role of women in the movie business, and her perception that actresses frequently have more energy than men.
“Take an excellent actress for example. She’s a type of electricity which quite often is larger than that of a person so that it’s not about sex but about the energy that each one of us gets in the company,” she states.
Wertmüller also discusses her feelings regarding the topics of political instability in her native Italy and if she’d have the ability to investigate them through the movie.
