Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, that is now an award-season favorite, will probably be re-released in India on February 14.
Todd Phillips together with Phoenix turned into the story of this emotionally unstable loner and neglected comedian Arthur Fleck to a blockbuster on par with all the Marvel films. It was released in India on October 2, 2019.
Given the enormous Oscar buzz around the movie — Joker scored 11 nominations, including Best Actress, Best Film and Director — Warner Bros Pictures will re-release the movie four times following the Oscars ceremony.
The movie outlines the protagonist’s early life as Arthur Fleck, who’s an aspiring stand-up comedian struggling to make ends meet and always derided by culture. The film narrates the situation that pushes Fleck to a life of crime after he fails to find his way into Gotham’s fractured society.
The Warner Bros. project has come to be the highest-grossing R-rated picture of all time, and has crossed the 1 billion mark at the global box office. A followup to the movie was speculated. Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are also re-released in India on Precisely the Same day.
