Italy, which has been long the epicenter of this coronavirus pandemic in Europe, has recently been reporting much lower COVID-19 amounts than neighboring Spain and France.
Medical specialists say Italians are traumatized from the summit of the crisis that spring and are currently being extra cautious.
But they are bracing for additional tough times ahead.
“Everyone recalls those pictures of coffins being removed,” explained Gloria Taliani, professor of infectious diseases in the La Sapienza University of Rome. “People got emotionally involved… in a manner, they just became more educated.”
