Millennium Seed Bank celebrates 20 Decades of Maintaining plant Legacy

The Millennium Seed lender is celebrating 20 decades of rescuing rare and endangered plants.

It has been known as the Noah’s Ark for plants also contains a set of over 2.4 billion seeds.

Researchers have accumulated and saved seeds of over 39,000 plant species.

“The reduced temperatures in which they’re stored (-20C) imply they may be maintained for decades and re-awakened if demanded, ” he explained.”
