An interpretation of this Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa made out completely of Rubik’s Cubes has offered for almost half a million euros.
“Rubik Mona Lisa” by French artist, Invader, was created in 2005 with 330 puzzles since the first in a collection of works revisiting a few of the planet’s most iconic pictures.
The art offered for $480,000 — four times the quote — following a bidding war involving two buyers in Artcurial’s Urban & Contemporary sale in Paris.
Invader is famous for his porcelain tile mosaics modelled on pixelated art of the 1970s-1980s video games such as Space Invaders.
The artist has stayed anonymous by functioning concealed and at nighttime and pixellates his face when interviewed or photographed.
