Last updated on October 21, 2019

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan delegation of American lawmakers have seen Jordan talk”the deepening crisis” in Syria amid a shaky US-brokered cease-fire.

As per a statement from Pelosi’s office, the delegation met Saturday with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Amman and held”crucial talks about the effect to regional stability” Jordan is a crucial U.S. ally in the area.

The trip to the Middle East arrived as the US was withdrawing troops from Syria, after President Donald Trump’s surprising decision to have US forces stand apart to get a Turkish incursion into Syria’s Kurdish-held northwest.

Jordan News Agency states Abdullah emphasized in the meeting the importance of protecting Syria’s territorial integrity.

Turkey has required both Syrian and juvenile authorities forces to draw from a designated boundary zone.
