Countless beer can collectors are going to New Mexico to get a”convention.” The Albuquerque Journal reports that the Brewery Collectibles Club of America is scheduled Thursday to begin observing several kinds of beer cans during its three-day national gathering in the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The team says the occasion attracts collectors from all over the globe that trade, purchase and sell clasasic and craft beer cans.
The collecting started in 1969 after collector Denver Wright, Jr. place an advertisement in a St. Louis paper requesting anyone who gathered beer cans to get him. Six collectors reacted, and they held an event in Denver weeks afterward. Ever since that time, the is celebrated each year.
