Last updated on October 16, 2019

Within an India-first attribute, Amazon on Wednesday declared that consumers are now able to pay their utility bills with Amazon Pay by simply speaking to its digital helper Alexa from the nation.

The newest Alexa attribute supports payment of invoices across classes like water, electricity, post-paid phone, cooking gas, broadband, DTH and much more.

“The integration of Amazon Purchase Alexa can help reduce both the time and effort to get clients who utilize Amazon Pay for invoice payments and replicate similar trades each month.

“We’re eager to share this can be an India-first attribute which Alexa clients in India can appreciate before any other foreign clients,” Puneesh Kumar, Country Manager for Alexa Experiences and Devices, said in a statement.

Alexa will recover the sum because of invoices from their enrolled Amazon accounts and request customer verification before processing the payment. Clients can allow a voice pin onto the Alexa program to make transactions more secure.

Once accepted, Alexa will finish the trade using Amazon Pay, and send a notification to the client’s registered cellular phone number, confirming the trade. Alexa will even send a hyperlink to register their invoice details about the Amazon shopping app before moving to get the payment, stated the corporation.
