1 railroad employee is dead and another severely injured after being struck by a train near Strasbourg, eastern France.
They had been hit by a local train traveling between Nancy to Strasbourg, a spokesperson for French railway operator SNCF told AFP news agency, at approximately 9.30 am CET on Tuesday.
France’s transportation ministry, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, sent his condolences” to the nearest ones along with the coworkers” of the deceased representative and”ideas into both wounded representatives” on Twitter.
The cause of the incident is unknown, authorities and police said.
It’s not considered that all of the passengers aboard were hurt, SNCF added.
The train which crashed was”immobilized” along with another regional train in the region stay inflow, the SNCF said.
Before this month, a train driver has been severely hurt in a high-speed train crash in Ingelheim, Alsace, eastern France.
