Rollout of UK’s Brand New blue passports to Start in March

The UK’s first brand new blue passports for at least three decades will likely be issued following month, the government has declared.

Britain started giving out burgundy-colored European passports from the late 1980s.

But bringing the”iconic” blue passports turned into a vital desire for Brexit fans, who view it as a matter of individuality.

They’ll be reached by Franco-Dutch firm Gemalto, who acquired a contract for its new passports in 2018.

From summertime, all new passports issued are this color.

“Leaving the European Union gave us an exceptional opportunity to revive our national identity and forge a new route on the planet,” said Home Secretary Priti Patel said

“By coming into the blue and gold design, the British passport will once more be entwined with all our national identity and I cannot wait to travel .”

Nigel Farage, who directs the Brexit Party, had predicted the return into the blue color a”real victory” of this referendum.

Gemalto, the business that is going to create the passports stated in a statement: “After the nation’s choice to leave the European Union, the award of this contract was contested by several politicians and sections of the press “

“But, the Home Office confirmed the procurement procedure, that had been conducted in strict compliance with EU regulations, had given the very best value and a high-quality answer for the nation.”

The blue color was first utilized in 1921, the Home Office stated.

But although many EU passports are burgundy, it’s not a necessity. Croatian passports stay blue.

There’ll be a brand new symbolic picture on the passport to represent England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
