Actor Scarlett Johansson walked down the memory lane and represented the challenging time she experienced when she had been broadly criticized for defending her option to play with a transgender character. According to People magazine, talking to Vanity Fair for the cover story of this book’s awards difficulty, the 35-year-old superstar said that she”mishandled that scenario.”
“I wasn’t sensitive, my first reaction to it. I was not conscious of the way the trans community felt about these three actors playing–and also the way they believed in overall about cis celebrities playing–transgender folks,” she explained.
“I was not conscious of that dialogue –I was uneducated. I heard a lot through this procedure. It was a tricky moment. It had been just like a whirlwind. I felt awful about it. To feel as if you are type of tone-deaf to something isn’t a fantastic sense,” she added.
Johansson later exited the job, telling Magazine out that”in light of recent ethical concerns raised enclosing my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have opted to respectfully withdraw my involvement in the job.”
