Public sector employees in France are still delivered transport in the country to a virtual standstill as they protest retirement reforms.
Protesters gathered Thursday morning in France’s third-largest town, Lyon, in which temperatures were just above freezing. Demonstrations weren’t intended for Friday however, the attack persists.
Police blocked many bridges in town in preparation for the protests.
The attack comes as the town prepares for its biggest tourist event of the year – that the Fête des lumières – that attracts more than a million tourists into the city every year.
