Actor Timothee Chalamet is currently in talks to essay the role of singer Bob Dylan at James Mangold’s film, which will accompany Dylan’s rise to fame and travel of being a folk music superstar. The Fox Searchlight movie is titled Going Electric, reports variety.com.
The news comes following a hectic season for Chalamet, who recently appeared in Greta Gerwig’s Small Girls adaptation and starred in Netflix’s historical drama The King.
Mangold most recently scored rave reviews for Ford v Ferrari, which stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale and tells the real story of this automotive group at Ford, headed by designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and his British driver Ken Miles (Bale), since they build a race car to beat the legendary Ferrari in the prestigious Le Mans race.
He directed and co-wrote the critically acclaimed Logan, which proceeded to become the initial live-action superhero picture to be nominated for screenwriting in the Academy Awards.
