Trump says White House’s Covid-19 Media briefings not worth his time

President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday his everyday coronavirus briefings weren’t worth his time, two weeks later sparking a furor by indicating patients may be recovered with disinfectant to kill disease.

He seemed to confirm media reports that he had been considering quitting the briefings, which predominate early-evening cable tv news for occasionally over two hours, from frustration with concerns regarding his handling of this Covid-19 pandemic.

“what’s the purpose of getting White House News Conferences if the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile queries, they won’t report the facts or facts correctly,” Trump wrote.

“They get listing evaluations, & the American men and women do nothing but Fake News.

On Thursday that the US leader stunned audiences by stating physicians might treat individuals infected with the coronavirus by shining ultraviolet light within their bodies, or with shots of family disinfectant.

“Then I visit the sap, where it rips (the virus) out at a moment ) 1 minute. Since you notice it gets into the lungs and it will a huge number on the lungs,” he explained.

Following a powerful rebuff of his proposal by leading medical specialists and disinfectant makers, Trump on Friday maintained he was talking”sarcastically.”

On Saturday, following 50 briefings over two weeks, the White House didn’t hold one whatsoever.

Trump has utilized the briefings to inhabit tv displays and encourage his government’s policies, fend off critics and assault political competitions — from opposition Democrats to China into the US media.

But after over 53,000 Americans have expired from the book coronavirus, the briefings, opinion polls indicate, haven’t bolstered Trump’s popularity among Republicans as he gears up to combat Democrat Joe Biden from the presidential elections in November.

An AP-NORC poll released Thursday showed that most Americans — along with a crushing majority of Democrats — do not think Trump when it concerns the health crisis confronting the nation.
