US police investigate jewelry thefts in Manhattan’s Trump Tower

Detectives are investigating reports of thefts of roughly $350,000 worth of jewellery from taxpayers in Manhattan’s Trump Tower.

The jewellery was stolen from within two flats in the building where President Donald Trump owns a penthouse triplex, authorities said.

A 33-year-old lady told authorities her 117,000 Graff bead bracelet was shot from her 59th floor flat after she left for a holiday on Sept. 3.

A 67-year-old lady reported five bits, such as a Harry Winston diamond necklace, a necklace, ring and bracelet — all wrapped with diamonds and sapphires — along with a set of pearl and emerald earrings, stolen by a drawer in her 42nd-floor cupboard, authorities said

A police spokesman told The New York Times that researchers have not identified a suspect and so are taking a look at everybody with access to this construction.

Trump plans to remain in his penthouse Sunday night. He is to provide a speech in the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

The New York Post published reports of these thefts.
