Indian girls held host Great Britain into a 1-1 draw in the next game of the Tour of United Kingdom held on Sunday. India were outside of the blocks faster and got a couple of penalty corners over the initial two minutes.
Britain’s custodian Maddie Hinch was to make sure India did not get an early encounter, however. Soon it had been Great Britain, that reciprocated, winning a penalty corner by a swift counter. Despite a clever save by the defense, a breach supposed the hosts were awarded a penalty stroke, which was converted at the 8th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead. It had been that slim lead they took to the first break.
Similar to the first quarter, it had been India again, that took the initiative early in the next period, winning a second brief corner and Hinch pulled off a second rescue. In the next quarter, India eventually restored parity after Lalremsiami fended off a counter-attack to draw the scores level.
Neither the defense caved though because the teams moved into the last quarter tied at 1-1.
Indian girls have been played their third match on Tuesday, October 1.
